The Institute for Excellence in the Humanities strives to influence the highly principled, moral character of the society in the Zionist State of Israel in the spirit of the Declaration of Independence; a state that ensures complete equality to all its inhabitants, and whose values embody tolerance, openness, progressiveness and fairness. The institute will do this by advancing humanistic education in the fields of Bible studies, Jewish thought, literature and history, as these are the areas of study that mold people and their values.

Main Activity: developing lesson plans for immediate use by teachers from all educational sectors in Israel.
The Institute is unique in that it operates within the existing national curriculum, as part of the syllabi of the subjects being taught today and by working teachers.
Teachers are often searching for innovative and fresh teaching materials. The Institute fulfils this need by developing quality teaching materials that are fully suitable to the topics being taught and emphasize Zionist, progressive and humanistic values.
The activity does not require adding extra classes to the schedule, as the lesson plans are written in accordance with the existing syllabi and are taught during the obligatory school schedule.
